Caramelized Smoked Tomato Waffled Grilled Cheese

This is the tasty creation that happened when I gathered whatever I had left in the fridge before grocery day. The flavors come together so nicely and each bite melts in your mouth!

Ingredients:

1extra large or 2 regular onions sliced

1 Field Roast Smoked Tomato quarter loaf

4-5 tablespoons of earth balance butter

1 beefless cube

1/2 cup water

Pinch of salt and pepper

2 Large Crescent Rolls

Follow Your Heart Provolone Slices

Cooking Spray

Directions:

In a large frying pan melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium high heat

Add in your onions

Continue to cook over medium heat until caramelized, turning often

When onion is caramelized add in your crumbled quarter loaf and remaining butter

Stir well

Allow to cook for 3-5 minutes

Add in your beefless cube and water

Continue to cook until water is evaporated

Season with salt and pepper

Prepare your sandwiches

Combine two triangles crescents to form a rectangle, pinch edges together

Continue with triangles to create rectangles

Heat your waffle maker

Spray with cooking spray

Place your rectangles down on two squares

Top with a generous amount of onion mix

Top with cheese, followed by top rectangles

(One batch should have a total of two rectangles on bottom, two rectangles on top.

Close waffle maker and cook until golden, roughly 5 minutes

Remove from waffle maker

Cut in half or cut into strips as seen in the photo below

Serve immediately

Enjoy
