
There's just something about Asian flavors that really hit the spot. This is a take on your classic meatball served up Asian style!
Sauce Ingredients:
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 tbl of brown sugar
1/2 cup of white sugar
1 tbl garlic pepper
1 tbl ketchup
2 tbls rice wine vingegar
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
Meatball Ingredients: 1 onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
5oz mushrooms, chopped
1 tbl soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
Salt and pepper
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
2-3 tablespoons of sauce
1 Lightlife sausage
Oil for frying
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400
In a small sauce pan combine your sauce ingredients, minus the cornstarch mix
Heat your sauce ingredients over medium high heat
Heat until sugar is dissolved
Stir in cornstarch mix
Simmer until thickened
Turn off heat
In a large frying pan add in your onion and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
Fry over medium-high heat
Cook onion for 5-7 minutes
Add in your garlic and cook for 1 minute
Add in your mushrooms and cook for 3 minutes
Stir in your soy sauce, sesame oil, salt and pepper
Remove from heat and allow to cool briefly
In a large bowl combine your ground sausage, breadcrumbs, ener g egg, cooked mushroom mix and 2-3 tablespoons of sauce
Form into roughly 2 inch balls
Place into greased baking dish
Drizzle with 1/2 the sauce
Bake for 10-12 minutes
Flip and drizzle with remaining sauce
Cook for an additional 10 minutes
Remove and serve
