A delicious grilled cheese using flavors of a hearty french onion soup!
Ingredients
3-4 tbsp of vegan butter, plus 3-4 softened vegan butter
3-4 sweet onions, sliced
6oz of Vegan Cream Cheese
Vegan Smoked Gouda Slices
Heart slices of bread
Directions
In a large frying pan melt 3 tbsps of butter over medium heat
Add in your onions
Cook, stirring often
After 10 minutes, season with salt and pepper
Add more butter if needed
Continue to cook until golden, have patience with them
Turn heat down if starting to burn too fast
Remove from pan and let cool slightly
Spread one side of bread with softened butter
Turn over your bread and spread the other side with vegan cream cheese
Place a spoonful of grilled onions onto one side
Top with a cheese slice
Place second bread on top, cream cheese side down
Repeat with remaining bread
Heat a non stick pan over medium heat
Place your sandwich into pan
Cook on each side until golden and cheese has melted
Remove and repeat with remaining sandwiches
