I love a good Marsala dish! The rich and savory flavors just melt in your mouth leaving you wanting to lick the plate clean!
Ingredients:
1 block of tofu, pressed and sliced into strips
1/4 cup of cornstarch
1/8 tsp garlic salt
1/3 cup Liquid Amino Acids
8oz mushrooms sliced
5-6 garlic cloves choppes
1/2 small onion diced
olive oil
2 tbl of butter
2 tbl flour
1/3 cup marsala wine
2 beef-less cubes
2 cups water
1/2 tbl dried parsley
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
Cooked Quinoa, Rice or Veggies
Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425
Grease a baking sheet
Mix your cornstarch with garlic salt, place into shallow bowl
Place your liquid amino into another shallow bowl
Dip your tofu strip into amino followed by cornstarch to fully coat
Place onto greased sheet
Repeat with remaining tofu strips
Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes flipping halfway through
While tofu is baking make your sauce
Mix remaining amino with beefless cube and water
Add a little olive oil into a medium pan and heat over medium-high
Add in your onion and garlic and cook for 3-5 minutes
Add in your mushrooms and butter
Cook for 2-3 minutes
Once melted add in your flour
Stir into thick paste starts to form
Add in your wine and mix
Slowly add in your liquid mix, 1/2 cup at a time
Heat for 5 minutes until starting to thicken back up
Add in dried parsley, pepper and nutritional yeast
Mix well
Turn off heat (add in more water if too thick)
Plate your cooked tofu on top of quinoa, rice or veggies
Add your sauce and top with parsely
Serve and enjoy!!
