Po'Boy made for a Rich' Boy taste. The vegan version of the traditional submarine sandwich from Louisiana!
Ingredients:
2 cans of hearts of palm
1 cup flour
1/3 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 cup almond/soy milk
1 rounded tablespoons of vegenaise
Oil for frying
Remoulade Sauce, recipe below
Lettuce
Tomatoes
French Rolls
Remoulade sauce:
1 cup Follow Your Heart vegenaise
1/4 cup ketchup
1 rounded tablespoons Dijon mustard
2-3 garlic cloves
1/2 bunch parsely
1/3 cup chopped green onions
Teaspoon of Garlic pepper
1 tablespoons sriracha
1/2 sweet onion chopped
1/2 teaspoon Paprika
1/2 teaspoon Salt
Dash of pepper
Directions:
Combine all remoulade sauce ingredients in food processor until blended well
Refrigerate for at least an hour
Cut your hearts of palm into bite size pieces, set aside
In a small bowl mix together 1 tablespoon of vegenaise and almond milk
In a large bowl sift together your flour, cornstarch, garlic salt, paprika
Stir in your panko breadcrumbs
Heat your oil
Place your hearts of palm into wet mix (vegenaise and milk)
Place into flour mix and toss to coat, press into mix well
Place into hot oil and fry for 2-4 minutes
Remove and drain
Repeat with remaining hearts of palm pieces
Coat each loaf with plenty of remoulade sauce
Top with fried hearts of palm, lettuce and tomatoes
Serve and Enjoy!
