Chili Cheese Corn Dogs

Today we are making the perfect summer dish. Nothing better than a corn dog loaded with chili! We are making easy by using frozen corn dogs and topping them with some easy chili!

Ingredients

1/2 large onion, diced

12 oz vegan ground meat

1 tbsp chili powder*

1 tsp paprika*

1 tsp garlic powder*

Salt and pepper

1 14.5 can of petite diced tomatoes

1 14.5 oz can of chili beans

8 frozen vegan corn dogs, we used morning farms corn dogs

Vegan cheese shreds

Green onions

Vegetable oil

*you can always use chili seasoning instead

Directions

Heat a large frying pan over medium

Add in a little vegetable oil

Once hot add on your onion

Cook for 5 minutes until til translucent

Add in your ground meat

Cook and crumble until starting to brown

Add in your chili powder, paprika and garlic powder

Season generously with salt and pepper

Mix well

Cook until

Browned

Add in your canned tomatoes and chili beans

Cook for 5 minutes stirring often

Remove from heat

Cool corn dogs according to directions, shorten cooking time by 5 minutes

Let corn dogs cool

Remove sticks from each corn dog

Carefully slice the corn dog in half, being careful not to cut all the way through, you just want to form a pocket for the chili

Fill each corn dog with chili

Sprinkle with cheese

Bake in a 400 degree preheated oven for 5-10 minutes until cheese has melted

Remove and garnish with desired toppings

We just used some green onions but jalapenos, sour cream would go great as well

Serve and enjoy!
