Wonton Nachos


Blending cultures one recipe at a time. Here we are creating nachos using Asian ingredients. The slow cooked Jackfruit meat blends perfectly with these Won Ton Chips and coleslaw!

Ingredients:

2 10oz cans young jackfruit

1/2 sweet onion, thinly sliced

1 cup Trader Joes Island Soyaki

3 garlic cloves, minced

1/4 cup of soy sauce

2 tablespoons of chili garlic sauce

1-2 teaspoons brown sugar

Wont Ton Wrappers

Asian Slaw, recipe below

Spicy Mayo, recipe below

Oil for frying

Directions:

Drain and rinse your jackfruit

Place into your crockpot

Add in your sliced onions and garlic

Add in your soyaki, soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, brown sugar

Mix well

Cook on high for 4 hours

Using two forks shred the jackfruit

Mix around in the sauce

Allow to sit in the sauce for 30 minutes

Heat your oil in a small sauce pan

Fry each wrapper for 1-2 minutes until crispy

Plate your fried won ton chips

Top with a generous amount of Jackfruit mix

Drizzle with spicy mayo

Top with Asian Slaw

Serve immediately. Won ton chips can get soggy really quick.

Spicy Mayo:

Mix together the following

1/2 cup of Follow Your Heart Vegenaise

1-2 tablespoons of sriracha

Allow to marinate in refrigerator for 1 hour

Asian Slaw:

Whisk together the following:

1/2 cup of vegenaise

1/4-1/3 cup of white wine vinegar

1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar

1 tablespoon of sugar

Toss with the following:

1 bag of coleslaw mix

1 bunch of Green Onions
