Fried Pastry with Cashew Cream

This simple but super tasty dessert makes you feel like you're at the fair! A definite must try!


1 Crescent Roll Package

1/2 cup sugar

Oil for frying

1/2 cup Follow Your Heart Cream Cheese Mixed with 1 tbl of Maple Syrup or Sweet Cashew Cream, recipe below

Fruit of choice


Place sugar in large bowl, set aside

Heat your oil in a small sauce pan over medium heat

Roll out your dough, flatted in out pretty good to make two large rectangles

Cut into small rectangles

Place 3 at a time into hot oil

Watch carefully as they cook fast

Carefully flip when starting to turn gold on bottom

Remove when both sides are golden

Place onto a paper towel to drain

Toss with sugar, remove and plate

Repeat until done

When cooled, spread each with cashew cream

Top with fruit

Serve and enjoy

Cashew Cream

1 cup raw cashews, soaked at least 5 hours in water

2 tbl of milk

2 tbl of water

2 tbl of maple syrup

1 tsp of sugar

dash of Vanilla


Drain your cashews and rinse

Place into bullet or food processor

Add in your milk and water

Process until smooth, adding more milk or water if too thick

Add in your maple syrup, sugar and vanilla

mix well

Test taste, add more sweetness if desired

Allow to cool for at least 1 hour
