Vegan Shrimp Toast


Ingredients

1 8.8oz package of Vegan Shrimp, thawed and finely chopped (We used All Vegetarian Inc)

1/3 cup green onions, chopped (Plus more for garnish)

8 oz Chestnuts, drained and chopped

1 stalk of Celery, chopped finely

1 tablespoon of garlic or 3 garlic cloves minced

1 tablespoon of soy sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 Follow Your Heart Vegan egg, prepared

1/2 rounded cup flour (maybe more)

6 sliced of THICK bread

Salt and pepper

Oil for frying

Sweet And Sour Sauce for Dipping

Directions

In a large add first 7 ingredients

Mix well

Add in your prepared vegan egg and flour

Season with salt and pepper

Mix well to form a thick paste (If too thin add more flour)

Heat your oil in a frying pan, 1-2 inches deep

Cut the crust off from your slices of bread

Cut each slice into 2 triangles

Top each bread with a generous amount of paste, press down*

Place paste side down into hot oil

Fry for 3 minutes, until golden brown

Carefully flip and fry 1-2 minutes until golden

Remove and drain on paper towel

Repeat with remaining paste and bread

Garnish with left over green onions

Serve with sweet and sour sauce

*Don’t add paste too early to bread, the longer it sits before frying the more soggy the bread will be
