This has to be my new favorite way to enjoy French toast. Throw all the ingredients into your baking dish, marinate in the refrigerator, add crumble topping and pop into the oven in the morning! Its rich and delicious!
Ingredients
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
120z liquid vegan egg
16oz of vegan heavy whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla
1 load of crusty bread
Softened vegan butter for pan
Topping Ingredients
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 stick of vegan butter, softened and cut into cubes
1 tsp cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Directions
In a medium bowl add your white sugar, brown sugar, vegan egg, heavy cream and vanilla
Whisk until blended well
Brush your 9x13 pan generously with butter
Break your loaf apart into small pieces and place evenly into buttered pan
Pour liquid sugar mix evenly on top
Cover and refrigerate for a few hours, preferably overnight
When ready to cook preheat oven to 350
In a small bowl add your flour, brown sugar cinnamon and salt
Mix well
Add in your butter and mix to form crumble pasta
Spread evenly on top of your bread
Bake in preheated oven for roughly 45 minutes until set and golden
Remove and let sit 3-5 minutes
Cut serving
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and drizzle with syrup
Serve and enjoy!
