This is such a fun and festive appetizer to serve this Christmas. Bread dough balls filled with cheese, formed into a Christmas Tree and topped with seasoned melted butter and baked to perfection.
This recipe is also very versatile so you can switch up the cheese thats inside the biscuit dough as well as what you add on top.
You can always use Pizza dough instead of biscuit dough.
Ingredients
1 can of vegan friendly biscuit dough (should make 8 biscuits)
7 oz block of vegan cheese, cut into 16 squares
1/3 cup melted vegan butter
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
Pinch of salt
3/4 cup of cherry tomatoes, cut in half
1/2 bunch of fresh parsley, roughly chopped
Marinara sauce for serving
Directions
Preheat oven to 350
To your melted butter add your garlic powder, Italian seasoning and pinch of salt
Whisk and set aside
Remove biscuit dough from package
Split each biscuit in half
Take each half biscuit and flatten them using a rolling pin
Place cheese square in the center
Wrap up and seal edges and form into ball
Place onto baking sheet
Repeat with remaining biscuit and cheese
Form into Christmas tree, starting at the top with one, then two, three, four and five with one on the bottom as the tree trunk
Until you have your Christmas Tree shape
Place your tomato halves on top
Sprinkle with parsley
Brush the top with your seasoned melted butter
Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes
Until dough is golden and cooked throughout
