What a simple little trick to turn store bought canned cinnamon rolls into the cutest heart shaped pastries to enjoy! And with the addition of this vegan friendly food coloring you can turn your icing into a vibrant beautiful color to match you mood.
Food coloring: Nomeca Vegan Food Coloring
Cinnamon Rolls: Immaculate Baking
Directions
Preheat oven to 350
Remove cinnamon rolls from packaging and set icing to the side
Take one cinnamon roll and carefully unroll leaving the center rolled up in a coil
Roll up the unrolled end into a coil to match the other coil
Fold and pinch the center to form the bottom of your heart
Place onto prepared baking sheet
Repeat with remaining rolls
Place into preheated oven amd bake according to package directions
While rolls are baking prepare your colored icing
Squeeze your icing into a small bowl
Drop a few droplets of your food coloring into the bowl
Mix well until color has blended
Place back into fridge until rolls are ready
Once rolls are ready remove from oven
You can ice the rolls two different ways, one with a standard icing spatula or butter knife
Or with a fancy icing bag. However I don't have one so I just used a ziploc bag
Placed the icing into the bag, cut the corner and squueze out through there. The bigger the hole the bigger the drizzle
Then carefully drizzle onto your cinnamon rolls
Serve and enjoy!
