I saw a recipe similar online and knew I had to make a vegan version. Spicy mini meatballs with 2 kinds of cheeses, bbq sauce and other spices to make this absolutely spectacular dip! Like nothing you have ever had before! So GOOD!!
Ingredients
12-14oz vegan sausage, we used impossible spicy sausage links, casings removed
Vegetable oil
1/2 red onion, diced
1-2 jalapeños diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
8oz vegan cream cheese
1 cup bbq sauce
1 rounded cup of vegan cheese shreds
1/3 cup non dairy milk
Salt and pepper
Pickled red onions
Green onions or chives
Tortilla chips
Directions
Heat 1-2 tbsps of oil in a large pan to medium high heat
Remove casings from sausage and pinch off a little piece of sausage
Roll and form into bite sized balls
Repeat with remaining sausage
Pan fry in oil until browned on all sides
Roughly 10-15 minutes
Remove meatballs from pan but keep oil inside of pan
Return pan to heat
Add your onion, jalapeño and garlic
Season generously with salt and pepper
Sauté, for roughly 5 minutes
Add in your cream cheese and bbq sauce
Cook down until cream cheese has melted
Add in your vegan shreds
Mix until almost melted
Add in your non dairy milk
Cook for 5 minutes
Return meatballs to pan and cook for an additional 5 minutes
Plate
Garnish with pickled red onions and green onions
Serve with tortilla chips
